Broadband: Windows 98/ME Setup

Follow these simple instructions for setting up a broadband connection - with a USB modem. If you are using a router modem - the setup is different, as you have to set it up on the modem itself - please consult the router's manual.

  1. On your computers desktop click 'My Computer' and then double click on the 'Dial-Up Networking' folder
  2. Click the 'Make New Connection' icon to start the New Connection Wizard
  3. Name the connection with a meaningful title such as 'Zaggle Broadband' and then select your connection device as the USB ADSL modem and then click Next
  4. Now you must enter the telephone number as - 0,38 - making sure you leave the area code blank and the country or region code set to United Kingdom(44)
  5. You have now created a new Broadband connection. Now click Finish
  6. In the Dial-Up Networking folder which should still be open you should now see the Zaggle Broadband connection which you should double-click
  7. Enter your Broadband username and password which you registered when you signed up for the Broadband account. Your broadband username can be found within 'My Account' on the 'ADSL Order Progress' tab
  8. You are now ready to connect
